Contributors from around the world are welcome. Accepted contributed articles
are unpaid, attributed to the contributor, and subject to PTI’s editorial standards

What we publish

Technical work that helps a professional
understand, interpret, or decide

Strong PTI contributions begin with a real technical question. They may come from laboratory work, operating experience, research, standards, process development, failure analysis, or a well-supported comparison of methods or technologies.

We are particularly interested in practical engineering and case studies; powder and particle characterization; measurement and interpretation; manufacturing and process behavior; emerging research, AI, automation, and digital tools; standards and regulation; and technical developments across industries that work with powders, particles, and granules.

The subject can be narrow. What matters is that the reader gains something technically useful from it.

Useful evidence matters more than a fashionable topic

A strong contribution does not need to announce a breakthrough. A clearly documented operating lesson, method limitation, unexpected result, or comparison can be more useful than a broad trend piece.

We are interested in what the evidence shows, under which conditions it applies, and where uncertainty remains.

You do not need to send a finished article. Give us enough information to understand the idea, the evidence behind it, and why it belongs on PTI.

State the central question, argument, or finding in the first two or three sentences.

Explain what a technical reader will understand, compare, diagnose, or decide more effectively.

Explain why you are well placed to write it, and include published work where useful.

Identify the data, literature, standards, measurements, case history, or operating experience that will support the piece.

Tell us how you plan to develop the article, including the proposed format, approximate length, and technical scope.

Flag a genuine deadline or time-sensitive development. Do not label a pitch urgent simply to accelerate review.

Give us enough to evaluate the idea

Relevant context

Name the material, process, method, industry, or technical situation clearly enough that we can see where the contribution fits.

Limitations

Tell us where the evidence stops. Strong technical writing makes key conditions and uncertainty visible.

Conflicts & interests

Disclose relevant commercial, professional, or financial relationships connected with the subject when you pitch.

Before you submit

A few practical boundaries keep the process efficient

Send a pitch rather than a finished manuscript. PTI generally publishes contributed articles of up to about 2,500 words, although the right length depends on the subject and format. Please allow up to 10 business days for a response. If you have not heard from us within that period, you can assume we are not taking the pitch forward.

Pitch the idea

Send the thesis, reader value, evidence route, proposed execution, and your relevant background. We do not need a completed article at the first stage.

Keep it editorial

We do not publish sales pitches, disguised product promotion, or articles whose technical conclusion is predetermined by a commercial objective.

Contributions are unpaid

Accepted contributed articles are unpaid. They are published under the contributor’s name and provide a way to share useful specialist expertise with PTI’s professional readership.

Editorial standards

Useful expertise still has to earn the reader’s trust

PTI distinguishes between what a source shows, what can reasonably be inferred, and what still depends on material, method, or process context. Submitted work may be edited for clarity, structure, technical framing, and consistency, and unsupported claims may be challenged or removed.

Editorial contribution and commercial participation are separate routes. No commercial relationship is required to pitch an article, and a commercial relationship does not guarantee publication, favorable coverage, or a particular technical conclusion.

Contributor terms

What applies when PTI accepts a contribution for development or publication

PowderTechnology.info is published by Deep Field Publishing, a trade name of BizzEthics. Submitting a pitch does not oblige PTI to develop or publish it. If PTI accepts a contribution for development or publication, these terms apply unless another written agreement says otherwise.

Rights, accuracy & editorial control

1. Originality and rights

You confirm that material you provide is original to you, or that you have permission to use any third-party material included in it. You are responsible for obtaining necessary permissions for text, data, figures, photographs, and other protected material.

2. Accuracy and disclosure

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide, for identifying important limitations, and for disclosing relevant commercial, professional, or financial interests connected with the subject. Do not submit proprietary or confidential information without authorization.

3. Editorial review

PTI may edit accepted material for clarity, structure, style, technical framing, consistency, and editorial or legal risk. Material changes to technical meaning should be resolved with the contributor before publication. PTI retains the final decision on whether, when, and in what form a contribution is published.

4. Publication rights

By approving the final contribution for publication, you grant PTI a non-exclusive worldwide right to publish, display, archive, distribute, and promote the contribution, including reasonable excerpts used to direct readers to the published work.

5. Attribution and payment

Accepted contributed articles are unpaid and are normally attributed to the named contributor. Any different arrangement must be agreed in writing before publication.

Publication, AI & post-publication handling

6. AI-assisted work

AI tools may be used as working tools, but contributors remain responsible for originality, factual accuracy, source integrity, permissions, and confidential information. PTI may ask how AI tools were used where that is relevant to editorial review.

7. No guarantee of publication

Acceptance of a pitch, discussion with an editor, or receipt of a draft does not create an obligation to publish. PTI may stop development where the evidence, relevance, quality, disclosure, or editorial fit is insufficient.

8. Corrections and withdrawal

PTI may correct, update, annotate, or withdraw published material when necessary to address factual errors, legal concerns, disclosure issues, or significant changes in the underlying evidence. Where appropriate, substantive corrections are identified transparently.

9. Contributor records

Keep your own copy of submitted material and source files. PTI is not responsible for preserving or returning working files that were not published.

10. Current terms and age

Contributors must be at least 18 years old. These terms may be revised as PTI’s editorial processes develop. The version in force when a contribution is accepted for publication applies unless a separate written agreement provides otherwise.

Include the thesis, why it matters to PTI’s readers, how you plan to support it, the proposed format and approximate length, your relevant background, and links to representative published work where available.
